Sight Worth Seeing
I have a collection of "road-kill" glasses consisting of over a hundred spectacles, in various states of destruction, all found on roadways. Many have parts missing but miraculously, some have a lens or two still in their frame. I often only find a single arm or lens. Every time I find a new one, I wonder about the circumstances that led them to be found on the road. Although most have been picked up on the streets of Toronto, some were discovered while visiting Vancouver, Halifax, Florence and various places in Mexico and Estonia. Others have been donated by vigilant (and thoughtful) friends and family.
Dozens of broken, bent spectacles have been used to create the temporary wall installation "FOCUS". Others were embedded into chunks of concrete, signifying their final fossil-like resting place of "Blurr St.".
