A Curious Development
This series of mixed media sculptures has developed through an exploration of both industrial materials (concrete and wire mesh) and organic fibres, namely bamboo, reed and hand made paper pulp. The contrasts and similarities of these chosen elements reflect the influences and observations from travels to South East Asia. Architecture, both animal and man made (specifically nests and Hindu or Buddhist temple structures) are expressed in a multitude of individual pieces which have been created to either stand alone or stack, nest or support one another.
